Every inch of Terra Sana has been thoughtfully designed with the planet in mind. The walls are plastered with natural earth, and the furnishings are made from FSC-certified wood. Plus, there isn’t a hint of plastic in sight (except for compostable trash liners).
From organic cotton bedding and wool duvets to non-toxic cleaning products, this “healthy house” invites guests to live with intention. And that’s precisely what we did.
The updated kitchen features pantry staples like organic olive oil and herbs refreshed regularly. Meanwhile, every food and kitchen scrap is composted and returned to the home’s impressive gardens.

Terra Sana’s amenities are designed for both relaxation and ritual. Take a midday dip in the saltwater swimming pool and unwind in the sparkling garden hot tub after the day’s outings. Start your morning with a refreshing cold plunge in the outdoor bathtub and shower, set amid the garden’s lush greenery. Inside, a clawfoot tub offers a spa-like soak—our host provided an essential oil blend on request for a personalized ritual.

Whether you’re gathering your girlfriends for a wellness weekend (like we did), hosting a creative retreat, or simply craving a quiet reset, Terra Sana offers the ideal setting.
One morning, we welcomed our day with sunrise yoga using the home’s provided yoga mats and equipment. Later, we spent afternoons lounging, sketching, and reading from the home’s art library. Most evenings, we put the day to bed with a glass of wine along the patio’s covered deck.
For families or couples, the property offers a space to unwind and reconnect with nature and one another. Terra Sana easily hosts three couples, but is cozy enough for a romantic getaway for two.
Exploring Sebastopol: Art, Farms, and Flavors
In Sebastopol, CA, nearly every road leads to adventure. Known for its blend of organic farming, art, and Gravenstein apple orchards, this laid-back town is both vibrant and grounded. And from Terra Sana, the best of it is right at your doorstep—quite literally!
While staying at Terra Sana, we visited several wineries and cideries located (to our pleasant surprise) mere minutes from the home. Terra Sana feels tucked away in a fairytale, yet sits as close as ¾ mile from the town’s best wine and farmstands. Just take a cruise in any direction and you’re sure to stumble upon a roadside egg stand, hobby farms peddling their seasonal harvest, and cozy wineries hidden in plain sight.
Wineries and Cideries in Sebastopol
Within 10 minutes, you can taste your way through some of West Sonoma’s finest. We began by browsing the Sonoma County Farm Trails guide and sought out wineries within close proximity to our stay. Our favorite stops were Red Car Winery, Horse & Plow, and Merry Edwards Winery.
Nature & Nearby Adventures
A five-minute drive takes you to Ragle Ranch Regional Park for meadow walks and oak groves, or hop on the Joe Rodota Trail for a scenic ride through vineyards to Santa Rosa. In under an hour, you can explore the Sonoma Coast, which showcases windswept beaches, seafood shacks, and coastal hikes (25 minutes from Terra Sana).
