SONOMA FARMERS MARKET

August 28, 2018

The Sonoma Plaza Farmers market is a local's favorite way to spend Tuesday afternoons. It's a great place to run into old friends and make new ones. It's much more than your ordinary farmers market. Local restaurants join the fun with food tucks and tables to promote their cuisine. You can also bring a bottle of wine and picnic, sit back and relax as you listen to the live music of Bay Area artists. There are also specialty items such as soaps, honey and jewelry. On your way out don't forget to grab a bouquet of the beautiful fresh cut flowers and your favorite, locally grown fruits and vegetables. This farmers market is truly one of a kind, it showcases Sonoma's warm and fun loving community. You can even try your hand at the zucchini races! You will go home each week feeling the love of our vibrant and charming town. So book your Vacation Rental with us and come enjoy one of the best Farmers markets in all of California! We have an array of properties for you to choose from, estate properties to cozy cottages. Give us a call and we can find you the perfect home for your trip to wine country!

THE LOVE IN THE AIR

December 29, 2017

In the wake of the wine country fires that hit our area, we seem to be being asked the same questions: How is Sonoma/Napa/Should we still come?
The majority of our homes are still standing. In fact, some of our Vacation Rentals have been converted into longer term housing as Sonoma and the rest of Wine Country rebuilds. We still have plenty of vacation homes available for your stay, and have added even more to our portfolio.
When you drive in to Sonoma, the hills are a bit charred, but from the town of Sonoma you would never know a fire very nearly took our beloved town. The hills have even begun to turn green with our recent rains.
"Look to the helpers"... and indeed there was no shortage of helpers in Sonoma, Napa, and Santa Rosa, as well as the rest of California. We had residents opening up second homes and their own homes to those displaced, local restaurants were offering free wifi and charging stations to those without power as well as coffee and meals to our firefighters. Animal shelters were helping with displaced animals. Local boutiques such as 1/2 Pint and Perle donated brand new clothing to those who lost everything, and here at Woodfield Property Management we worked with insurance brokers to place families in homes as quickly and comfortably as possible.
At the time of the fires, everything was chaos. Now we see the blessing of a reminder of what a magical, loving place Sonoma Valley really is.

Vacation Home vs. Hotel

September 25, 2017

Over the past few years the use of vacation property rentals have gained popularity. How do you know if renting a vacation home is right for you?
Size Matters: Most hotel rooms are around 400 square feet. Compare to that the average vacation home's square footage of 2,000 feet. There are times when 400 square feet will suffice, and others when its nice to be able to have some space and room to roam.
Groups: Size goes hand in hand with family or group vacations. When staying at hotels with a group of friends, often times the highlight of the night is being gathered around the table at dinner. There's laughter and joking, delicious food and good conversation. When the check comes, the jovial night ends as couples or families head back to their own individual hotel rooms and flip on the television. With a vacation home, the festivities can simply transition from restaurant to poolside or to the comfy, spacious living room. Pull out a card game or whip up a quick dessert for all to enjoy.
